Your material is yours.
We request deletion of your uploaded audio as soon as your report commits. If immediate cleanup is interrupted, the storage lifecycle expires it within 24 hours. Your report — including its transcript and joke-by-joke breakdown — is kept privately in your account so you can revisit it, and you can delete it at any time. We never share it and never send it to third-party AI.
What we collect
We store your account email, subscription status, and upload job status. For each finished set we store the performance metrics (timestamps, durations, evidence labels, laughs per minute), the joke-by-joke grades with a short setup excerpt for each joke (this is how bits are named and tracked across nights), and the transcript, so your report stays useful when you come back to it and can be compared across nights. If the optional room-response review is enabled, its bounded timestamps and machine confidence values are stored inside the same report; they are excluded from your scores. All of it is deleted with the report. Full punchline text tied to your top moments is stored only if you turn that option on for a given upload.
How processing works
Your recording is processed on infrastructure we control. We do not send your audio, transcript, or jokes to an LLM or third-party AI service. The optional room-response review uses the processor Mac’s built-in, on-device sound classifier and emits only bounded timing evidence. Video uploads are accepted only as containers; the analysis uses the audio stream.
Live recording
If you use LaughSignal Live, your browser asks your permission to use your microphone, and recording only begins after you start it and stops when you do. The microphone is used solely to capture your set for analysis; the resulting audio follows the same deletion and 24-hour backstop as any upload. Because a live recording may also pick up the room, you are responsible for recording only where you are permitted to and for giving any notice the venue or audience requires. You confirm this before each recording.
Deletion
After a report commits, immediate audio deletion is retried with the same job-lease authorization that completed the report. If every immediate attempt is interrupted, the upload-storage lifecycle expires the object within 24 hours. Your report and its transcript remain in your account until you delete them — deleting a report removes its transcript, grades, review timestamps, and any punchline text, and deleting your account removes all of it. Database recovery copies are kept for no more than seven days, so deleted data ages out there too.
Ad measurement
Public marketing and sign-in pages may load the Meta (Facebook) pixel so we can tell whether our ads work. Private product surfaces — including your dashboard, recordings, jobs, reports, Analyst, achievements, billing redemption, and Live recorder — do not load it. Meta never receives your recordings, transcripts, jokes, report contents, or private product-page views from LaughSignal.
Security
Access is authenticated, externally reachable endpoints are rate-limited, secrets stay out of source control, application logs exclude audio, transcripts, punchline text, and email addresses, and service credentials should be scoped to only the resources they need.
