Terms of use

LaughSignal is a performance measurement tool, not an artistic verdict or a guarantee that every detected pause is laughter. It is operated by Banfunny Productions (“we,” “us”) — the name you’ll see on your statement.

The service

LaughSignal analyzes the audio of a stand-up set and returns performance metrics: detected responses per minute, a response timeline, and top moments. Recordings under about four minutes, over ninety minutes, over 500 MB, or without enough audible speech may be rejected without consuming quota. You must be 18 or older to use the service.

Live recording

LaughSignal Live is an optional add-on that records your set through your browser’s microphone, with your permission, and sends it straight to analysis. You are responsible for recording only where you are permitted to do so and for giving any notice or obtaining any consent the venue, event, or audience requires by law or house rules. Recording captured through Live is your material and is governed by the ownership terms below; deletion is requested after processing and backed by a 24-hour upload-storage lifecycle. You confirm you may record before each session.

Your material and content ownership

You may upload — by file or by YouTube link — only content you own or hold the rights to, and you affirm this on every submission. Uploading anyone else’s material is a violation of these terms and results in a permanent ban with no refund. You retain all rights to your recordings; you grant us only the temporary permission needed to process the upload and produce your report.

Plans, billing, and renewal

The free plan includes one processed set per calendar month. Pro is $9.99 per month or $74.99 per year with a fair-use limit of forty processed sets per month, and auto-renews until you cancel from the billing portal — access then continues to the end of the paid period and stops. Pro members may also buy optional top-up packs (10 processed sets for $4.99); purchased scans do not expire, apply only after the monthly forty are used, and are credited back to your balance if a set fails or is unusable. If a payment fails, Pro access ends. A one-time Lifetime Studio license (Pro, Analyst, and Live for the life of the service, subject to the same fair-use limits) may be purchased on Gumroad and redeemed in the app. Subscriptions are processed by Stripe and lifetime purchases by Gumroad; both are also subject to the checkout terms shown there.

Refunds

All sales are final. Subscriptions, top-up packs, and Lifetime Studio licenses are non-refundable, except where the law requires otherwise. You can cancel anytime from the billing portal to stop future charges — your access continues to the end of the paid period and then stops. Failed and unusable uploads never consume your quota, so you are never charged a scan for a set we could not read. If a purchase is refunded or charged back, the access it granted is revoked.

Privacy and your data

Processing is audio-only. We request deletion of your uploaded audio after processing and retry immediate cleanup; the upload-storage lifecycle expires any remainder within 24 hours. Your report — including its transcript, joke-by-joke analysis, and any optional review-only timing evidence — is stored privately in your account so you can revisit it, and you can delete any report (transcript and all) at any time. We do not sell your data and we do not send your material to third-party AI services; transcription and optional on-device sound classification run on our own private processor.

Acceptable use

You may not republish, resell, scrape, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service, and you may not use it unlawfully.

Plain-dealing disclaimer

The service is provided as-is, without warranties. Reports include model and pipeline versions so results stay explainable, and detection may change as the service improves. To the maximum extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
